430 stainless steel bar has the advantage of resistance to atmospheric corrosion, fresh water, weak acids and alkalis, but not as good as 304 stainless steel (especially in the chloride environment prone to pitting). Similarly not resistant to strong acid, alkali or salt spray environment, such as coastal areas need to be used with caution. 430 bar is medium strength, low hardness, can be cold worked to improve the hardness, no non-magnetic, but cold working may produce a slight magnetism. Its antioxidant temperature can be up to 800 ℃ below, continuous use is recommended not to exceed 700 ℃. Note that intergranular corrosion is likely to occur at high temperatures, and it is not suitable for welding high temperature parts.

Note, please avoid using in coastal buildings or high humidity basement.

For home appliances and kitchen, it can be used for kitchen storage racks, and the surface should be polished to make it easy to clean. It is cost-effective and meets the requirement of food-grade appearance (GB 4806.9 standard). It can also be used as bolts, pins, hinges, etc. The surface plating can enhance corrosion resistance. Q: Does 430 stainless steel bar rust?

A: Answer: It will rust, but it is more resistant to corrosion than ordinary carbon steel.
Reason: 430 stainless steel contains chromium (16%~18%), which can form a protective film of chromium oxide, but it may still rust in humid, chlorine-containing (e.g. seawater, salt spray) or acidic and alkaline environments. Surface polishing, passivation treatment or coating with anti-rust oil can improve corrosion resistance

Q: How to identify the authenticity of 430 stainless steel bar?

A: Testing method:
Magnetic test: 430 is magnetic, 304 is non-magnetic (but after cold working 304 may be weakly magnetic).
Potion test: use stainless steel identification solution (430 is light red, 304 does not change colour).
Spectral analysis: accurate detection of composition (Cr ≥ 16%, Ni ≤ 0.5%).

A: Processing recommendations: large feed at low speed to avoid sticky knife ground cutting. Cold bending, but control the amount of deformation to prevent cracking.
Storage requirements: dry and ventilated environment, avoid contact with carbon steel (to prevent galvanic corrosion). Coat the surface with oil or film to prevent rust.
