Product Feature and Application

With its resistance to extreme environments, long life and high reliability, Inconel 625 bar has become a core material in aerospace, deep-sea development, energy and chemical industries, and is especially suitable for key components with high requirements for safety and durability.

High Temperature Performance

Maintain high strength below 980°C, excellent oxidation resistance, outstanding creep resistance, suitable for long-term high-temperature service environment.

Room Temperature Performance

Tensile strength ≥ 760 MPa, yield strength ≥ 345 MPa, elongation ≥ 30%; high fatigue strength, suitable for dynamic load components.

Corrosion Resistance

Resistant to seawater, salt spray, chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC); resistant to sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid and other acidic media corrosion.

In aerospace, its resistance to gas corrosion at temperatures up to 980°C makes it ideal for jet engine combustion chambers, turbine sealing rings and exhaust system components, while its high strength-to-weight ratio is used in the manufacture of highly stressed fasteners and landing gear components.

In marine engineering, pump shafts, valves and submarine propellers machined from bars show excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion in seawater and salt spray environments, while pipeline connectors and bolts in deep-sea, high-pressure environments rely on their long-term stable corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.

In the energy and chemical industry, Inconel 625 bar is used in nuclear reactor cooling system piping, high temperature and high pressure reactor lining and pickling equipment, which is resistant to radiation and acidic media corrosion, but also maintains creep resistance at high temperatures over a long period of time. In the oil and gas field, its H₂S/CO₂ corrosion resistance is used in downhole tools (such as drill collars) and submarine oil and gas transmission system of the key connectors, significantly enhance the reliability of the equipment in the high-pressure, highly corrosive environment.

In addition, the material is making its mark in environmental equipment and medical high-end manufacturing. The multi-scenario adaptability of Inconel 625 bar makes it an irreplaceable solution for high-temperature, highly corrosive, high-stress environments, continuing to push the limits of industrial technology.

FAQ

Q: How is the corrosion resistance of Inconel 625 bar?

A: Excellent corrosion resistance scenarios: seawater, salt spray, chloride environments (resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking). Sulfuric acid (concentration ≤ 40%), hydrochloric acid (concentration ≤ 10%), phosphoric acid and other acidic media.
Limitations: Reduced corrosion resistance in strong reducing acids (e.g. hydrofluoric acid) or high temperature concentrated sulphuric acid. Avoid long-term contact with molten alkaline salts (e.g. NaOH).

Q: What is the maximum operating temperature? What is the performance under high temperature?

A: Antioxidant temperature: Long-term use temperature ≤ 980°C (Cr₂O₃ protective film formed on the surface).
Mechanical decay: tensile strength remains about 620 MPa at 650°C; strength decreases significantly above 980°C, making it suitable for short-term high-temperature exposure only.

Q: Why are material costs higher? Is it worth choosing?

A: Cost factor: High content of precious metals such as nickel, molybdenum and niobium and difficult to process.
Cost-performance advantages: long life with reduced replacement frequency, low maintenance resistance to corrosion and high temperature deterioration, suitable for extreme environments, alternative to multi-material combination solutions.

Q: In which scenarios is the material not recommended?

A: Ultra-high strength requirements: age-strengthened alloys such as Inconel 718 or MP35N are required.
Extreme high temperatures >1000°C: oxide diffusion strengthened alloys such as MA754 are recommended.
Low cost preferred: Stainless steels such as 316L or Duplex are available for mild environments.

Q: What should I pay attention to in long-term storage or use?

A: Storage: Avoid contact with corrosive substances such as chlorides and sulfides, and keep dry.
Cleaning: Oil and debris need to be removed after processing to prevent localized corrosion.
Periodic inspection: When serving in high temperature or corrosive environments, the integrity of the surface oxide layer needs to be monitored.
