Description

304LN stainless steel wire is a low-carbon nitrogen alloyed derivative of 304 stainless steel, belonging to the austenitic stainless steel family. By reducing the carbon content and adding nitrogen, it significantly improves strength and intergranular corrosion resistance while maintaining the corrosion resistance of 304 stainless steel.

304LN is ideal for harsh environments such as chemical and marine industries, and its weld-friendliness and affordability make it widely used in industrial applications, especially for lightweight designs that require long-term corrosion resistance and high strength.

Carbon content: 304LN carbon content (≤ 0.03%) is lower than 304N (≤ 0.08%), and the national standard is further limited to ≤ 0.022%.
Nitrogen content: 304LN nitrogen content (0.10-0.16%) is slightly lower than 304N (0.1-0.25%), but higher than 304L (no nitrogen or trace).
Nickel content: 304LN lower limit of nickel is slightly higher than 304L (e.g., 8.0% vs. 8.0%), and some standards require up to 8.5% or more.

Alloy Details

Corrosion resistance: excellent corrosion resistance, can be used in a variety of corrosive media.

High strength: the addition of nitrogen improves the strength of the material, tensile strength ≥ 520MPa, yield strength ≥ 275MPa.

Good machinability: easy to carry out cold working and hot working.

Good welding performance: suitable for a variety of welding methods, such as TIG welding, MIG welding and plasma arc welding.

Food & Pharmaceutical Industry

Cold rolled stainless steel wire can be woven into high precision sieves for grading and filtration of flour and pharmaceuticals.

Medical Instruments

For the production of surgical instruments such as guide wires, stents and orthodontic wires, which are biocompatible, non-toxic and resistant to corrosion during sterilization processes such as autoclaving.
